01 / OUR COMMITMENT

Commitment to Achieving Net Zero

PrimeLife Care Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

We provide personal care and support to people in their own homes. Our main sources of emissions are the travel our care staff make between visits, how staff travel to and from work, and the energy and waste of our office. We take our responsibility to reduce these emissions seriously, alongside our duty to keep the people we support safe and well. Infection prevention and safe care always come first.

Commitment to the provision of reliable emissions data

We will record our emissions using recognised methods and the UK Government's greenhouse gas conversion factors for company reporting for the relevant year, keep the evidence behind our figures, and report them honestly, including any estimates or gaps.

02 / BASELINE EMISSIONS

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases we produced in the baseline year. They are the starting point against which we measure progress. All figures are in tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e), including all the gases covered by the Kyoto Protocol.

Baseline year: 2026/2027
Additional details relating to the baseline emissions calculations

Baseline emissions were calculated using data from office energy bills, staff mileage claims, business travel records, a staff commuting survey and waste management records. Carbon emissions were converted into tonnes of CO₂ equivalent (tCO₂e) using the UK Government Greenhouse Gas Conversion Factors for the baseline year. Where complete data was unavailable, reasonable estimates were made based on historical records and average usage. Some Scope 3 emissions, including certain purchased goods and supply chain activities, were not fully measured due to limited data availability and will be incorporated into future reporting as data collection improves.

Scope 1 42 tCO₂e · Direct emissions
Scope 2 35 tCO₂e · Purchased electricity
Scope 3 118 tCO₂e · Included sources

Emissions Reduction Targets

To continue our progress towards achieving Net Zero by 2050, PrimeLife Care Ltd has adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease from our baseline of 192 tCO₂e to 154 tCO₂e by 2031, representing a reduction of 20% over the next five years.
Year Target emissions (tCO2e) Reduction from the baseline (%)
Baseline 2026/2027 192 0%
2031 154 20%
2035 125 35%
2040 96 50%
2045 48 75%
2050 Net Zero 100%
